The successful candidate will facilitate the in-house or third-party manufacturing of x-ray tube bearings, working closely with engineering and production teams.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li>Adapt standard tooling, mount cutting tools, set feeds and speeds, and make necessary adjustments </li><li>Perform heat treating, finishing, grinding, honing, brazing, and mechanical assembly operations as required </li><li>Provide work direction and assist with machine set-up for junior machinists </li><li>Troubleshoot and repair grinding equipment to support quality requirements and production demand </li><li>Train other employees in bearing component development, manufacturing, and assembly </li></ul> <p>Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>4 years of concentrated machinist training. </li><li>Able to read and interpret engineering drawings </li><li>Demonstrated job planning abilities and knowledge of mathematics through trigonometry. </li><li>Understands how to work with a variety of materials. </li></ul> <p>Experience Level with Business Tools</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>2-year certificate in Machining with emphasis on Grinding </li><li>4-year degree from an accredited university with coursework in bearing design and materials </li><li>10-15 years of hands-on grinding experience producing precision ball bearings for medical devices </li><li>Formal training and practical ability to convert tolerancing from manufacturing drawings to machine language </li><li>Proven ability to lead setup, documentation, process, and procedures for consistently producing x-ray bearings </li></ul> <p>ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>Medium work that will occasionally require employee to lift/move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 15 lbs. to greater than 20 lbs. </li><li>Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally </li><li>Reaching above and below the shoulder occasionally. </li><li>Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools constantly. </li><li>Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities. </li><li>Work environments includes: moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion. </li><li>Travel to offsite training sites.
