<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a visionary and experienced Vice President & Actuary to lead the actuarial strategy for our pet insurance segment. This position will drive the long-term profitability, risk management, and innovation of our product portfolio. The VP will lead a high-performing actuarial team, provide strategic leadership across the business, and serve as a key voice in guiding enterprise-level decisions.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Set the actuarial vision and strategy for the pet insurance business, aligning with corporate goals for growth, profitability, and market leadership. </li><li>Lead actuarial functions such as pricing, filings, and management reporting for the pet insurance line. </li><li>Work closely with the Finance team on the annual planning process, providing loss ratio projections and planning support documents; monitor and revisit loss ratios monthly throughout the year through re-bridging. </li><li>Oversee the development and enhancement of pricing models, underwriting frameworks, and product segmentation strategies. </li><li>Collaborate with the Analytics team in developing new models to support product development, pricing, claim analytics, and distribution strategies, ensuring two-way communication, thorough model review, and successful implementation upon delivery. </li><li>Provide strategic oversight on actuarial inputs to product development, market expansion, and distribution strategy. </li><li>Serve as a key member of the leadership team, offering thought leadership on business planning, risk appetite, and capital efficiency. </li><li>Build and lead a high-performing actuarial team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth. </li><li>Represent the company in discussions with regulators, reinsurers, partners, and other external stakeholders. </li><li>Ensure actuarial compliance with regulatory standards (ASOPs, NAIC, etc.) and company governance. </li></ul>
