<p>Location: Biola University, La Mirada, CA</p> <p>Department: Athletics - Sports Performance</p> <p>Position Type: Part-Time, 9-Month, Hourly</p> <p>Overview: Biola University Athletics is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual for the position of Sports Performance Coach. This role is instrumental in enhancing the athletic performance and overall fitness of our student-athletes. Biola University is a Christian institution in line with the Protestant tradition and theologically conservative. As such, a successful candidate will have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and will affirm Biola University's doctrinal statement. The successful candidate will join our Sports Performance Department and will be responsible for specific team assignments while assisting other teams as needed.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Develop and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports teams.Assist in the development and execution of strength and conditioning programs for other sports teams as needed.Conduct regular performance assessments and provide training plans to enhance athletic performance.Monitor and document student-athlete progress, ensuring adherence to established training protocols.Collaborate with sports medicine staff to integrate injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.Educate student-athletes on proper nutrition, recovery, and overall wellness.Maintain a safe and organized training environment.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in sports performance and conditioning.Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall goals of the Sports Performance Department.Know and adhere to all university, conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.Current CPR/AED Certification.Preferred:Nationally recognized strength training certification (CSCS, SCCC, or equivalent). Strongly preferred.Experience in collegiate strength and conditioning.Effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Commitment to fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere for student-athletes.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Part-time, 9-month hourly position.Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing.</p> <p>Reporting:</p> <p>This position reports directly to the Director of Sports Performance.</p>
