<p>PeaceHealth is seeking a Transporter - Patient Transport for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $20.53 - $30.86. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, supplies, specimens and equipment through the facility.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Transport patients by schedule and on request utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment. </li><li>Transport materials such as supplies, specimens, records, linen, trash, confidential documents and equipment. </li><li>May be responsible for conference room set-up including equipment and patient care equipment transfers. </li><li>May clean wheeled transport equipment as needed. </li><li>May be required to function as coordinator to facilitate patient transports. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Preferred: Entry level position. Prior patient care experience. </li><li>Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs </li></ul> <p>Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Good customer service skills. (Required) </li><li>Good interpersonal skills. (Required) </li><li>Basic computer skills. (Required) </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Lifting</p> <ul> <li>Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). </li><li>Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. </li><li>Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment (i.e. stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.). </li><li>Frequent reaching/ grasping. </li><li>Occasional bending/ stooping. </li><li>Push/Pull: Frequently up to 25 lbs. force. Occasional up to 50 lbs. force. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. </li><li>Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. </li><li>Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. </li></ul> <p>Mental/Visual</p> <ul> <li>Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). </li><li>Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. </li></ul> <p>PeaceHealth is committed to the overall wellbeing of our caregivers.
