<p>Job Description:</p> <p>School Custodian</p> <p>Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory High School, Bridgeport, CT</p> <p>PRIMARY DUTIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:</p> <ul> <li>Reports to the Principal and Assistant Principal </li><li>Clean and sanitize classrooms, library, gym, cafeteria, main offices, and business office. </li><li>Check restrooms/bathrooms and clean and sanitize as necessary using established procedures </li><li>Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers as needed </li><li>Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. </li><li>Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure buildings when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, </li></ul> <p>report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.</p> <ul> <li>Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed. </li><li>Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet </li></ul> <p>of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.</p> <ul> <li>Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis. </li><li>Perform other maintenance related tasks as directed by the principal and assistant principal </li><li>Have essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, </li></ul> <p>comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing, and innovation.</p> <ul> <li>Attend to emergencies when necessary. </li><li>Attend safety meetings and other related meetings. </li><li>Take classes as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, First Aid, CPR, and working relationships. </li><li>Support and enforce all policies </li><li>Observe and uphold OSHA/WISHA rules, school health, and safety regulations and guidelines, etc. </li><li>Follow asbestos removal procedures. </li><li>Ability to perform minor electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry work. </li><li>Responsible for cleaning school grounds, parking lots of school. </li><li>On-call to meet police at school if the alarm goes off. </li></ul> <p>Contact cfigluizzi@kolbecaths.org if interested in applying</p> <p>Kolbe Cathedral High School</p> <p>33 Calhoun Place</p> <p>Bridgeport, CT 06604</p> <p>(203)-335-2554</p>
