<p>Administers respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, under the supervision of a physician and by prescription. Applies the cardiopulmonary process to plan and implement the care of patient, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Establishing treatment plans, operating medical equipment, recording patients' medical histories and symptoms, collecting, analyzing, and integrate patient information to identify and meet the patient specific needs.</p> <p>Working with a variety of patients, from neonatal to geriatric</p> <p>Consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals</p> <p>Performs routine Respiratory Care</p> <p>Establishing treatment pans, operating medical equipment</p> <p>Administering medications and treatments.</p> <p>Record patients' medical histories and symptoms.</p> <p>Set up plans for patients care of contribute to existing plans.</p> <p>Observe patient and record observation.</p> <p>Knowledge of medical equipment used in the care of the patient.</p> <p>Teach patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries.</p> <p>Explain what to do at home after treatment.</p> <p>Performs Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitoring and Scanning, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, attends all C-Sections and high-risk deliveries of newborn, Arterial Blood Gas sticks, Capillary sticks, Analyzation of Arterial Blood Gases, Cord Blood Gases, Capillary Blood Gases and Carboxyhemoglobin. Maintenance and troubleshooting of the Arterial Blood Gas Analyzer, Pulmonary Function Studies, Electroencephalograms, Stress Testing, Cardiac Rehabilitation.</p> <p>Full-time employees are required to take a weekend call once every six weeks and in the Cardiopulmonary Directors absence.</p> <p>PRN employees will be asked to take call periodically and work one holiday annually.</p> <p>Maintain work areas in a clean organized and well supplied manner.</p> <p>Able to perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Non-Essential Functions</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects, and committees as assigned.</p> <p>Adheres to and supports polices policies and procedures of the STRHS.</p> <p>Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary</p> <p>Accepts all call schedule as directed.</p> <p>Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance with the existing dress code.</p> <p>Organizational Expectations</p> <p>Compliance to the STRHS Standard of Behavior is required</p> <p>Compliance to Dress Code Standards</p> <p>Should this job description be filled by a PRN employee; they will be subject to the requirements of that position.</p> <p>Actively participates in Foundation Safety Behavior Tools and Tactics such as Briefs, Debriefs, Huddles, Learning Board Activities, Executive Patient Safety Rounds and reporting of unanticipated and unintended patient events regardless of whether there is harm.</p> <p>Provide effective mentoring</p> <p>Be loyal to the absent</p> <p>Always manage up</p> <p>Consistent use of AIDET & 5 P's</p> <p>Uphold the facilities Standards of Performance</p> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Education</p> <p>Equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or successful completion of AARC approved Certification Program.</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>Standard patient care equipment, computer documentation</p> <p>The ability to work well under pressure to function dependently and independently.</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS)</p> <p>Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)</p> <p>Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)</p> <p>Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)</p> <p>Certifications may be obtained within 30 days of hire.</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>Licenses: State of TN, RRT or CRT (ABG Endorsed)</p> <p>Equal opportunity and affirmative action employers and are looking for diversity in candidates for employment: Minority/Female/Disabled/Protected Veteran</p>
