<p>What We Need YOU To Do:</p> <p>The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) at our Southwest Office in Dayton, Ohio.</p> <p>Let's dive in.</p> <p>As Ohio EPA's environmental specialist, you will prepare and implement work plans, sampling plans, reports, and technical memoranda associated with the investigation of environmental releases from hazardous waste sites, sites participating in the Voluntary Action Program (VAP), sites subject to remediation under CERCLA and RCRA authorities, and sites subject to remediation under state authority. You'll ensure field activities are carried out per approved work plans, acting as the district site coordinator for assigned sites.</p> <p>You'll review various plans, drawings, and specifications for the construction, operation, and maintenance of remedial activities at assigned sites, ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with their specifications. You'll conduct periodic inspections of sites to verify remedy effectiveness. You will coordinate these activities with other agency personnel, other state and federal agencies, and any responsible parties.</p> <p>Additionally, you'll participate in public meetings and provide technical assistance to participants in the state's VAP program, the regulated community, consultants, and government officials regarding applicable laws, regulations, and division policy. You'll also review new regulations and standards and make recommendations for their efficient implementation or further modification.</p> <p>Here's a quick review:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and implement work plans, sampling plans, reports, and technical memoranda associated with various site investigations. </li><li>Review plans, drawings, and specifications for remedial activities at assigned sites. </li><li>Conduct periodic inspections of sites to verify remedy effectiveness. </li><li>Coordinate activities with other agencies, agency personnel, and responsible parties. </li><li>Participate in public meetings and provide technical assistance to participants. </li></ul> <p>Apply today, and let's talk!</p> <ul> <li>12 mos. exp. as Environmental Specialist 1, 85861. </li><li>OR 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in position involving engineering or chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, geology or hydrogeology &/or other comparable physical or health science field &/or mathematics which included responsibility for conducting compliance monitoring surveys &/or inspections/reviews or investigations, or review of permit applications relative to oil & gas well operations or injection, annular disposal & saltwater injection wells & enhanced recovery projects or coal mining, or solid/hazardous waste sites or industrial & municipal wastewater dischargers, or collecting, compiling & preparing various environmental assessments, evaluations, reports & related documents.
