<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Assistant Athletic Trainer</p> <p>JOB TITLE: Assistant Athletic Trainer</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Athletics</p> <p>SUPERVISOR: Head Athletic Trainer</p> <p>LOCATION: On-campus located in Tiffin, OH</p> <p>JOB TYPE: Full-time</p> <p>GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Tiffin University seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This is a full-time, 12-month contract renewable annually. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be integral to a nine-person sports medicine team caring for all our twenty-five varsity athletic programs sponsored by Tiffin University. Tiffin University is a proud member of the NCAA Division II and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.</p> <p>The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be serving as the primary medical care provider for injuries sustained by Tiffin University student-athletes and will have other responsibilities as assigned by the head athletic trainer. Provide quality comprehensive health care through prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injury or illness, and act as a therapist to rehabilitate injuries sustained through participation in intercollegiate athletics at Tiffin University. Promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies, and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the GMAC, and the NCAA.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses </li><li>Evaluation of athletic injuries </li><li>Treatment of athletic injuries. </li><li>Operation therapeutic modalities </li><li>Fitting of protective devices and braces </li><li>Oversee the daily operation of the athletic training room </li><li>Complete and submit insurance claims to secondary athletic insurance company </li><li>Providing counseling and education to student-athletes. </li><li>Athletic training administrative duties as assigned. </li><li>Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions. </li><li>Scheduling or work-study students for coverage. </li><li>Supervision, education, and recruitment of student athletic trainers. </li><li>Recordkeeping and documentation. </li><li>Work with physicians and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student-athletes </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited institution is required. </li><li>A Master's degree is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Certification/License:</p> <ul> <li>Must be certified (or eligible to take the exam and/or actively attempting to pass the exam) by the NATABOC. </li><li>Licensure to practice athletic training from the state of Ohio Board of OTPTAT. Failure to pass the BOC exam and become licensed by the Ohio Board of OTPTAT will result in a continual effort to fill the position. </li><li>Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is also required. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 0-2 years of successful athletic training experience; </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>A record of integrity and leadership. </li><li>A willingness to advance the goals of the Tiffin University Department of Athletics. </li></ul> <p>TIFFIN UNIVERSITY SPONSORED BENEFITS</p> <p>Tiffin University offers excellent benefits.
