<p>Woodland Recovery Center is seeking a Counselor I to provide compassionate and evidence-based support for individuals in recovery. The Counselor I will be responsible for delivering therapeutic services, facilitating group and individual counseling, and supporting clients in their journey toward sobriety and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to foster a safe and supportive treatment environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients. </li><li>Facilitate group therapy, individual counseling, and educational sessions focused on substance use disorders and mental health. </li><li>Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure successful outcomes. </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines. </li><li>Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to coordinate client care and treatment interventions. </li><li>Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to clients as needed. </li><li>Educate clients and their families on addiction, recovery strategies, and relapse prevention techniques. </li><li>Adhere to all ethical guidelines and confidentiality policies in line with HIPAA regulations. </li><li>Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients. </li><li>Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, counseling theories, and behavioral health best practices. </li><li>Ability to manage caseloads effectively and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. </li><li>Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus. </li><li>Lead educational groups on a range of topics related to addiction, recovery, and well-being. </li><li>Co-facilitate process groups with licensed therapists. </li><li>Develop and lead specialty expressive or experimental groups unique to your interests, expertise, and qualifications while meeting all required certifications and regulatory standards. </li><li>Review assignments with patients. </li><li>Provide one-to-one support sessions in alignment with treatment plan and therapist guidance. </li><li>Leverage de-escalation skills to ensure patient safety and reduce AMA risk. </li><li>Maintain and promote healthy boundaries. </li><li>Respond and participate as assigned to emergency codes. </li><li>Document attendance, individual participation, and response to groups. </li><li>Summarize content and tone of each patient meeting. </li><li>Work with therapists and treatment team in developing patient goals, treatment plan, and aftercare plan. </li><li>Learn and follow company-established policies and procedures and maintain adherence to established skills and practice according to position. </li><li>Remain current with all required trainings and certifications. </li><li>Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). </li><li>Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed or certified as an addiction counselor in the state of Mississippi or be eligible for certification. </li><li>Experience: Previous experience working with substance use disorders and mental health
