<p>Overall Job Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for performing support functions in the daily operations of a legal division by reviewing, gathering, organizing and processing information relevant to case files. Research into governmental and financial regulations by which the organization must abide.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)</p> <p>Review, track, and monitor legislation that impacts the company's products and/or licensing and compliance processes</p> <p>Assists in implementing changes to contracts to comply with legislation/regulations</p> <p>Assist with paperwork needed by the SEC, IRS, UCC and other regulatory bodies</p> <p>Ensure the organization operates within the legal requirements set forth by local, state and federal regulations regarding trade, governance and employee rights</p> <p>Prepare legal documents and case components - including affidavits, pleadings, appeals, briefs and closings for attorneys - as well as assisting lawyers with drafting a variety of contracts</p> <p>Partner with members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives as needed</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Experience: 3 plus years' experience</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.</p> <p>Professional Certifications: Paralegal Certificate preferred</p> <p>Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities</p> <ul> <li>Solid Microsoft Office skills; drafting skills; detail oriented </li><li>Capable of creating templates and forms for documents and collecting metrics </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, confidentiality, and collaboration </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Normal office working conditions </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Sitting </li><li>Standing (not walking) </li><li>Lifting up to 10 pounds </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position.
