Click here for more information on compensation for these roles. </li><li>In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as; time off, health and wellness benefits, and PERA Retirement. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Organizes parent involvement activities, workshops and classes utilizing best practices and providing information and resources to parents in an appropriate and timely manner </li><li>Works with school leadership to manage relationship between school and parent community; provides training and support to school staff on parent engagement strategies </li><li>Coordinates existing programs for parents and assists them to develop academic home leaning strategies for their children; researches and promotes best practices in parent engagement; and recruits and supports parents as active volunteers in the school </li><li>Develops parent involvement plans/policies and parent-school compacts in accordance with best practices and the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act </li><li>Organizes, coordinates and supervises before and after school programs </li><li>Researches and develops school/home links; develops written support tools, including Parent Guides; and assesses parent outreach efforts on an ongoing basis to ensure continuous improvement in the school's effort to foster strong relationships </li><li>Makes home visits and monitors student attendance issues </li><li>Convenes regular parent meetings and events around topics of key concerns to parents and attends parent-oriented school events (e.g., back-to-school night) that foster relationships with families </li><li>Identifies/responds to day-to-day parent concerns related to school and school community and works with school principals to resolve parent issues in a timely manner; attends parent meetings with principal as appropriate; and serves as a mediator where concerns cannot be resolved between parents and principals directly </li><li>Eases the integration into school for families who are new to the community (e.g., assists with student enrollment issues) </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or relevant work experience, required. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Education, preferred. </li><li>Two (2) or more years of experience as a Restorative Justice, preferred. </li><li>Three (3) years minimum experience and demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues, required. </li><li>Experience working with alternative youth and service providers preferred. </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish, highly preferred. </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
