<p>Position Description</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Student Services & Support Coordinator</p> <p>LOCATION: CASEE</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Student Services & Support Coordinator is responsible for developing, writing, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining all Section 504 plans across the district, ensuring compliance with federal law and equitable access to accommodations and supports for students with disabilities. The position also provides district-wide training, technical assistance, and direct building-level support related to Section 504, special education systems, inclusive practices, and student support programming.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Compliance & Program Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Oversee district-wide implementation of Section 504 procedures and compliance requirements. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and related OSPI guidance. </li><li>Develop and maintain district procedures, forms, guidance documents, and timelines related to 504 eligibility, plans, reevaluations, and procedural safeguards. </li><li>Monitor 504s for consistent implementation of accommodations and nondiscrimination requirements. </li></ul> <p>Student Support & Case Consultation:</p> <ul> <li>Support administrators and school teams in determining student eligibility under Section 504. </li><li>Provide technical assistance regarding accommodations, manifestation determinations, medical documentation, attendance-related disability concerns, and disciplinary implications. </li><li>Assist teams in distinguishing between IDEA eligibility and Section 504 eligibility. </li><li>Support transitions between special education, Section 504, MTSS, and general education interventions. </li></ul> <p>Training & Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Provide annual training for administrators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, teachers, and classified staff regarding Section 504 requirements and implementation. </li><li>Develop communication tools and guidance for staff and families. </li><li>Facilitate collaborative problem-solving with parents and school teams regarding accommodations and access concerns. </li></ul> <p>Records & Documentation:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain district records related to Section 504 plans and compliance monitoring. </li><li>Review documentation practices to ensure procedural compliance and confidentiality requirements. </li><li>Assist with audit preparation and records requests as needed. </li></ul> <p>Equity & Access:</p> <ul> <li>Promote equitable access to academic programs, extracurricular activities, transportation, and district services. </li><li>Collaborate with district departments to address accessibility concerns and barrier removal. </li><li>Ensure nondiscrimination protections are implemented consistently across district programs. </li></ul> <p>Building-Based Problem Solving & Team Support:</p> <ul> <li>Meet with building teams to problem-solve student concerns, programming needs, behavior challenges, and placement questions. </li><li>Facilitate, and/or attend 504 meetings, manifestation determinations, placement discussions, and parent meetings to support teams through complex situations. </li><li>Help teams respond to urgent student situations, crisis behaviors, safety concerns, and changing student needs. </li><li>Facilitate communication between school teams and Special Services administration regarding staffing, programming, and student support concerns. </li><li>Provide technical assistance and coordinated support related to Section 504 and special education systems, including review of accommodation plans, IEPs, evaluations, reevaluations, behavior supports, progress monitoring, placement considerations, transition planning, and implementation of appropriate services and supports to ensure student access, compliance, and continuity across general education and Special Services programs. </li><li>Organize and facilitate professional development, onboarding, mentoring, consultation, and ongoing staff support related to Section 504 processes, accommodations, disability awareness, parent communication, and coordination of student supports with school teams, counselors, related service providers, outside agencies, and Special Services staff. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Section 504, IDEA, ADA, FERPA, and Washington special education regulations. </li><li>Knowledge of IEP development, behavior intervention systems, inclusion practices, MTSS, and PBIS. </li><li>Strong understanding of special education timelines, procedural safeguards, evaluations, and service delivery models. </li><li>Ability to facilitate collaborative problem-solving and conflict resolution. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams. </li><li>Strong organizational, coaching, and systems-thinking skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple urgent situations simultaneously while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Washington teaching, ESA, or administrator certificate. </li><li>Master's degree in special education, educational leadership, school psychology, counseling, or related field preferred. </li><li>Experience in special education leadership, instructional coaching, student services, or related support systems. </li><li>Experience facilitating IEP, Section 504, and multidisciplinary team processes. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Administrative credential preferred. </li><li>Experience supporting compliance systems and special education programming. </li><li>Experience with behavior systems, inclusion supports, and MTSS implementation. </li><li>Experience supporting staff coaching and professional development. </li></ul> <p>Reports To:</p>
