<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Security Officer may be assigned to different posts for this position and therefore will be trained for both truck gate security as well as employee screening and security.</p> <p>The Security Officer is responsible for checking in and screening visitors and employees upon entry to the facility. This includes but is not limited to monitoring CCTV, checking ID's, issuing visitor badges, performing bag searches, monitoring walk through metal detectors and using handheld metal detectors to resolve alarms.</p> <p>Additionally, the Security Officer is responsible for access control and logging of all truck and trailer traffic into and out of the facility yard. Officers are responsible for documenting the arrival and departure of trucks and trailers on paper logs as well as entering truck and trailer information into clients computer based yard management software. Officers will need to verify accuracy of documents and loads of trucks and trailers upon their exit from the facility yard.</p> <p>Special Considerations: Officers must be willing able to work in challenging weather conditions to include heat, cold, wind and rain. Officers will be exposed to these weather elements as they are physically inspecting trucks and trailers. Standing for extended periods of time will be required at certain points.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>All responsibilities are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner and in accordance with client and/or Andy Frain policies and procedures. Responsibilities may vary from location to location but will typically consist of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Operate computer based yard management system to record number of trucks, Bill of Lading, trailer numbers and other information. </li><li>Physically inspect inbound and outbound trailers and seals to prevent unauthorized removal of product or property. </li><li>Conduct screening of employees, vendors, visitors and belongings utilizing, hand wands, and/or magnetometers </li><li>Perform bag checks and other inspections to verify no unauthorized items enter or leave property </li><li>Issue temporary badges to visitors </li><li>Guard the entrance the facility and grounds, warehouse, or other property to control traffic to and from buildings and grounds </li><li>Monitor CCTV cameras </li><li>Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas </li><li>Screen and log persons and/or vehicles accessing restricted areas </li><li>Operate electronic vehicle gates to allow entrance or exit of employees, trucks and authorized visitors </li><li>Verify employee credentials or approved roster before admitting anyone entry to the property </li><li>Directs visitors and truck drivers to various parts of grounds or buildings </li><li>Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as theft, equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences </li><li>Answer telephone calls and maintain log books </li><li>May be required to operate a company security vehicle to perform property vehicle patrols </li><li>Perform other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED). </li><li>Must be willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. </li><li>Minimum 3 - 6 months prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems, or access computer systems. </li><li>State Guard license is required. </li><li>Pass a regulated drug test (where required). </li></ul> <p>Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>A security officer is, to be honest, alert, and well disciplined as the custodians of employee and customer property and safety. </li><li>Constant and dedicated vigilance. </li><li>Strong customer service skills, exemplifying Andy Frain Services Mission Statement. </li><li>Ability to be a hands-on, results-oriented employee, handling multiple priorities simultaneously. </li><li>Ability to facilitate progressive change, work as part of a team, and follow directions. </li><li>Work with a sense of urgency. </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Security Officer to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow for certain ADA requirements.</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers. </li><li>Pushing/pulling/carrying lifting may include up to 50 lbs, stair climbing. </li><li>Normal vision or corrected by the use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities. </li><li>Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, climb stairs, and walk as required to perform the duties associated with functioning as a security officer. </li></ul>
