We are looking for self-motivated candidates to join our on-call part-time staff. The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing personality, a positive attitude, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>The Position: The lifeguard will primarily oversee LORAC's twelve-lane competition pool, recreation pool, splash area, and/or spa.</p> <p>HOURS: This position is a reoccurring temporary position, working 8 consecutive months in a 12-month period.</p> <p>The person in this position may work up to 40 hours per week at LORAC.</p> <p>The following schedules are currently available:</p> <p>Sunday through Thursday</p> <p>Tuesday through Saturday</p> <p>Monday through Friday</p> <p>Thursday through Monday</p> <p>Hours:</p> <p>Monday through Friday: 7:30am-4:00pm and 6:45pm-9:15pm</p> <p>Saturday and Sunday: 12pm-6:30pm (8pm on select weekends)</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Create a safe environment for all LORAC patrons, both swimmers and other guests, by maintaining constant surveillance of patrons in the facility. </li><li>Interact professionally with customers, staff, and the general public. </li><li>Perform rescues and administer emergency care and assessment as trained and necessary. Initiate or participate in a coordinated, team approach to manage incidents. </li><li>Assist in teaching lessons in the LORAC's Learn to Swim program. </li><li>Perform custodial maintenance of LORAC. </li><li>Attend training, personal and professional development opportunities, and contribute to positive work culture. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Requirements</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Current American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding (if not currently certified, please reach out for upcoming classes). </li><li>Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently (verbal and written). </li><li>Ability to pass a water/swim skills test. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Application Process: You may visit our web site at www.ci.oswego.or.us/jobs to access the online application process.
