<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Secretarial/Clerical/Substitute Clerical</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/26/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Center for Education Services</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>09/09/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Substitute Clerical</p> <p>Any School Within WCPS</p> <p>Hourly Wage is $22.52 per hour</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED.</p> <p>Previous office experience and/or secretarial training.</p> <p>Accurate typing skills.</p> <p>Experience using Synergy (student management system) or compatible database program.</p> <p>Demonstrated skill in a variety of software and electronic communication tools, including MS Office Suite.</p> <p>Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> <p>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Excellent reading, grammar and punctuation skills.</p> <p>Good organizational skills.</p> <p>Experience receiving telephone inquiries and providing the appropriate response.</p> <p>Ability to communicate clearly.</p> <p>Positive public relations skills.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities</p> <p>Process student attendance.</p> <p>Mail attendance letters to parent/guardian.</p> <p>Maintain high level of confidentiality in conducting office business/assignments.</p> <p>Work cooperatively with others.</p> <p>Respond appropriately to written correspondence.</p> <p>Communicate effectively with the public in giving and obtaining information, referring callers and arranging appointments.</p> <p>Provide assistance to staff and students as needed.</p> <p>Collect and record data to maintain files.</p> <p>Apply Board of Education policies and procedures as required.</p> <p>Utilize various types of office machines, including computers.</p> <p>Assist in preparing school for opening and closing of school year as needed.</p> <p>Prioritize assigned tasks.</p> <p>Perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties as assigned and provide back up support to other office secretaries, where applicable.</p> <p>Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.</p> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental Requirements</p> <p>The Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental demands represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Required prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.</p> <p>Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building.</p> <p>Must use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear.</p> <p>Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.</p> <p>Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.</p> <p>Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb.</p> <p>Will be subjected to loud noises, interactions, and traffic flow associated within a highly populated office environment.</p>
