<p>The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for ensuring that accounting procedures are controlled and secure, providing accurate accounting information for owners, officers, and directors. This role involves standardizing and enhancing operational efficiency, modifying and implementing policies and procedures, and establishing positive working relationships with</p> <p>employees. The CFO will promote the company's Mission Statement and ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Team Leadership: Oversee the recruitment, selection, training, development, and motivation of Accounting Department team members. Provide timely feedback regarding performance, both positive and negative. </li><li>Performance Evaluations: Review and provide feedback on written performance evaluations, corrective actions, and final warnings for Accounting employees. Conduct performance evaluations and counseling for all direct reports. </li><li>Compensation Analysis: Analyze employee performance and salaries, providing recommendations for compensation adjustments or promotions. </li><li>Staff Development: Supervise, develop, and cross-train the Accounting corporate team members in accordance with company policies and guidelines. </li><li>Financial Controls: Ensure that Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the P-card program are controlled and secure. </li></ul> <p>Regulatory Compliance: Comply with GAAP and real estate regulations, ensuring efficient and economical accounting functions for properties and the management company.</p> <ul> <li>Reporting and Audits: Coordinate necessary reporting and audits, overseeing distributions to owners and investors. </li><li>Banking Relations: Oversee banking relationships, ensuring optimal services and returns on investments. </li><li>Cash Flow Analysis: Conduct routine cash flow analyses and recommend necessary actions. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Experience, Training, and Education:</p> <p>Education: Four-year college degree required.</p> <p>Experience: Experience in automated accounting systems, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, check processing, and fixed assets.</p> <ul> <li>Supervisory Experience: Manage a staff of 10 or more, preparing for audits, and compiling tax packages. </li><li>Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Additional Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or CPA designation. </li><li>Experience: Property management experience in a multi-site environment. </li><li>Knowledge: Familiarity with Rent Payment, Nexus Payables, YieldStar, Yardi Voyager, Construction Module (job costing), SharePoint, etc. </li></ul> <p>Equipment and Tools Used:</p> <ul> <li>Computer hardware/software, multi-function printer-copier-scanner-fax, calculator, and telephone. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Primarily sedentary work, with some bending and kneeling for file access. </li><li>Occasionally requires lifting up to 15 pounds. </li><li>Regular use of computers and telephones. </li></ul>
