Our committed staff of direct support professionals help drive our mission.</p> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Assistant to perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and landscaping tasks across various residential and light commercial properties. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional on-call responsibilities. Travel is required throughout Rockville, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Bowie, and occasionally to St. Mary's County. Mileage is reimbursed.</p> <p>Who You Are:</p> <ul> <li>Reliable - Someone who shows up on time, is responsible, and is committed to supporting the Rock Creek Foundation mission. </li><li>Sincere - Someone who is attentive, protects individual's rights to privacy, confidentiality, and personal choices. </li><li>Understanding - Someone who will help Rock Creek Foundation in supporting individuals to ensure that their needs and life goals are safely achieved. </li><li>Personable - Someone who has good communication skills, can build relationships with others, and enjoys being active within the local community. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance: </li></ul> <p>Perform lawn mowing, edging, pruning, hedge trimming, mulching, leaf and debris removal, and overall grounds beautification.</p> <ul> <li>Exterior Maintenance: </li></ul> <p>Clean gutters, perform power washing, and carry out seasonal duties such as snow removal and salting.</p> <ul> <li>Painting & Surface Repair: </li></ul> <p>Interior and exterior painting, light drywall patching, and minor carpentry touch-ups.</p> <ul> <li>Plumbing Tasks: </li></ul> <p>Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues including clogged drains/toilets, replacement of faucets, disposals, P-traps, wax rings, fill valves, and water lines.</p> <ul> <li>Basic Electrical Work: </li></ul> <p>Replace or install light fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, outlets, and hardwired smoke detectors.</p> <ul> <li>General Repairs & Maintenance: </li></ul> <p>Small repairs to doors, cabinets, furniture, and locks; trim and molding work; furniture assembly and relocation; emergency water cleanup.</p> <ul> <li>Routine Property Maintenance: </li></ul> <p>Check appliance and water temperatures, replace air filters and batteries in detectors/thermostats, clean dryer vents, and perform basic HVAC system upkeep.</p> <p>What We Require:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma (or equivalent); or three (3) months' related experience and/or training. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. </li><li>Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping.
