<p>Seeking a Reading Specialist Teacher for the upcoming school year at Colegrove Park Elementary School. This position is subject to the North Adams Teachers Association contract.</p> <p>Job Goal:To promote and develop equitable and effective reading instruction and intervention for students and to support colleagues and building leaders using the latest science of reading as a guide for implementation.</p> <p>Supervision: Reports to the Building Principal and District Literacy & Title Grant Coordinator.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities: Implements equitable practices in all aspects of the following responsibilities. l. Communicates with families regularly regarding student progress 2.Maintains currency in the latest reading research through ongoing professional development and training 3.Establishes strong working relationships with students, families, colleagues and building leaders 4.Clearly understands and is able to implement a Universal Design for Learning as it relates to a Multi-tiered System of Support using district curriculum materials and differentiated instruction techniques 5.Assesses, organizes and interprets data related to student outcomes as measured by universal screening assessments 6.Regularly collaborates with students, colleagues and building leaders on student outcomes 7.Plans and implements outcome-aligned intervention lessons to support individual student learning 8.Models, observes and co-teaches in Tier I classes to promote effective instructional practices vetted by research 9.Aligns practice to the DESE Standards for Educator Effectiveness 10.Organizes and facilitates Fall, Winter, Spring data meetings to discuss and interpret results from universal screening assessments and progress monitoring data and recommend aligned interventions with colleagues and building leaders 11.Leads professional development and training to support colleagues in best practices and locates supplemental resources as needed 12.Establishes consistent routines and procedures and sets high expectations for students 13.Any other duties as assigned by administration</p> <p>The Committee's policy of nondiscrimination will extend to students, staff, the general public, and individuals with whom it does business; No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town or in obtaining the advantages, privileges, and courses of study of such public school on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.</p>
