<p>Under the direction of the program manager, the Program Coordinator provides office and programming support to students and visitors including, but not limited to, coordinating student events and programs, overseeing administrative functions, greeting visitors, supervising student employees, managing room reservations and office spaces, restocking supplies, administrative paperwork, and partnering with the program manager to draft and distribute communication within the Division of Student Experience. The coordinator cultivates a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment and will assist in providing co-curricular support/resources for students. The program coordinator is responsible for maintaining close working relationships with campus partners, serving as a brand steward for the office's work and initiatives. Preferably, the individual will have a sense of civic engagement in dealing with the broader Syracuse community. The program coordinator demonstrates an appreciation and commitment to the concerns that impact students served by the Barner McDuffie House and all students.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>High school diploma required. </li><li>Two (2) plus years of work experience in a similar position engaging with students. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Must have participated in assisting, implementing, and sustaining a support program for students or youth programs preferably in educational institutions or community organizations. </li><li>Applied knowledge of student development theory and fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments. </li><li>Individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong sense of follow-through, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Teams). </li><li>Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and projects; work priorities will change continually in response to a dynamic work environment. </li><li>Experience and track record of success in student success and belonging programming, mentoring, and training student volunteers preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of social media platforms preferred. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and evaluate events and programs that support the academic and co-curricular success of students served by the Barner McDuffie House. </li><li>Interact with students on a consistent basis to determine and address their needs and provide support as appropriate. </li><li>Coordinate programming logistics in collaboration with the Program Manager. </li><li>Assist in continually enhancing sustainable programs supporting undergraduate and graduate students and providing informal advising for students who use the space. </li><li>Partner with coordinators and other staff of the lntercultural Collective (IC) team in support of their programs and events. </li><li>Assist in representing the Collective at university-wide opportunities (e.g., admissions events, family weekend, orientation, etc.). </li><li>Welcome visitors and consistently cultivate a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all. </li><li>Assist with administrative functions for Barner McDuffie, including, but not limited to, restocking supplies, upkeep of space and rooms, providing tours of the building, and monitoring the number of visitors. Foster relationships and collaborate with divisional departments and other campus partners to enhance and strengthen Barner McDuffie's programming initiatives. </li><li>Identify campus and community resources, programs, and support services for students served by the Barner McDuffie House. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
