If you are someone who genuinely cares about students' success and has experience with coaching, mentoring, training, or teaching, we want to hear from you. We are looking for instructors who share this vision and are dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and achievement.</p> <p>Classes in the Electro-Mechanical Technology program are available in day, afternoon, and evening schedules, and teaching assignments may include one or more of these times. This position requires in-person teaching at our Truax Campus.</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants who have industry experience, apprenticeship experience, teaching experience, and/or related skills and knowledge in the following areas.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Industrial Controls</p> </li><li> <p>Industrial Electricity</p> </li><li> <p>Industrial Robotics</p> </li><li> <p>Programmable Logic Controllers & industrial control networks</p> </li><li> <p>Manufacturing Automation and System Integration</p> </li></ul> <p>Full-time faculty work a nine-month contract for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and teaching summer courses, if available, is optional, with additional pay.</p> <p>Madison College believes every team member brings unique perspectives and experiences that enhance our ability to understand and engage with the world, tackle challenges, and develop innovative solutions. This position may be used to fill similar positions within a 12 month period.</p> <p>Our goal is to conduct virtual interviews the week of April 28th, and second round in person interviews the week of May 19th. Expected Start date: August 14th, 2025.</p> <p>This position reports to the Dean of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach a minimum of 15 contact hours within the Industrial Technology department's curriculum per semester.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues to develop course curriculum that is culturally responsive and inclusive of all student identities and experiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Use teaching strategies that are designed to engage students and promote success in the Industrial Technology field.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuously reflect on and refine teaching practices by engaging with student data to address and eliminate inequities in student experiences and outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to the department by participating in department meetings, events, and service activities such as mentoring, assessment, and governance.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to student success and retention by advising students with course selection, career concerns, internships, and other matters.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as an advocate for students and engages in activities that help students achieve their goals such as writing letters of recommendations, and/or helping students link with internships, service learning, job shadowing and other forms of networking.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a commitment to the college mission, vision, and values.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Effective communication skills including demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. This includes, but is not limited to, knowledge/experience with current educational methods/strategies such as learner-centered instruction, active learning, assessment, evaluation, collaborative techniques, and strategies aimed at addressing inequities in student experiences and outcomes across race, gender, class, and disability.</p> </li><li> <p>Desire and ability to teach courses at both the collegiate transfer and technical/occupational program levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate complex and difficult concepts and ideas to students with varied backgrounds and levels of preparedness.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods, as well as incorporating appropriate use of new and emerging technologies into the learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on course and program promotion, direction, and innovation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Studies, Technology Education, Career and Technical Education, or a closely related discipline. </li></ul> <p>AND</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of recent related work experience. Teaching in a related field may be considered for one year of occupational experience. * </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>One of the following credentials: </li></ul> <ol> <li> <p>The completion of an apprenticeship with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards OR with a federally registered program</p> </li><li> <p>A signed letter from a representative of an appropriate and authorized apprenticeship advisory committee</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or state with licensure reciprocity</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure as an HVAC Qualifier in HVAC, OR Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Mechanical Design</p> </li><li> <p>Associate's degree AND Industry recognized robotic/automation certification</p> </li></ol> <p>AND</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) years or 10,000 hours of related work experience </li></ul> <p>If no Associate's degree, expectation to obtain one within 3 years of hire (unless waived).</p> <p>Application Instruction: We welcome your application to include the following (3) documents.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Cover Letter - limit to no more than one page in length.</p> </li><li> <p>Resume</p> </li><li> <p>Transcripts (can be unofficial)</p> </li></ul> <p>These materials will provide us with insight into your qualifications and passion for teaching. *</p> <ul> <li>Failure to include these documents by the first consideration date will result in the disqualification of your application. </li></ul> <p>Note: Candidates will be required to present a teaching demonstration and provide related curriculum materials for the screening committee.
