<p>Overview</p> <p>Tantor Media, an audiobook publisher in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, has an immediate opening for an experienced Technical Support Analyst to help with its growing IT needs. Tantor Media is a division of Recorded Books and produces audiobooks under the Tantor and Highbridge imprints. This is a full time position (40 hours weekly) that will report directly to the IT Manager. Candidates must be able to work out of the Tantor Media headquarters in Old Saybrook, CT.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve end-user / narrator / customer problems with applications, hardware and software including website support. </li><li>Installs, configures and image workstations and laptops. </li><li>Track issues to resolution while updating Jira with the solutions and logging all support activity. </li><li>Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop equipment and software. </li><li>Maintains hardware and software inventory, tracks software licensing. </li><li>Assists in maintaining telephone systems, network, printers and servers. </li><li>Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity. </li><li>Confers with staff, users, and IT Manager to establish requirements for new systems or modifications. </li><li>Cross-train on mission-critical duties with the other members of the IT Team </li><li>Available for on-call support of critical systems during non-business hours and works flexible hours as needed. </li><li>Train and orient staff on use of hardware and software. </li><li>Assists in the development of on-going training and documentation for users. </li><li>Works with IT Manager to purchase hardware and software. </li><li>Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases. </li><li>Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365 email and Microsoft office products </li><li>Assists in other duties as needed and directed.* </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications/Skills</p> <ul> <li>Associate (2-year) degree, with technical major, such as engineering or computer science. </li><li>Related certification(s) in Linux and Microsoft </li><li>2 or more years of related experience </li><li>Ability to complete projects within a given time frame </li><li>Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical teams </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment </li><li>A positive, team-oriented attitude is a must.
