The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support and develop student-athletes, fostering a positive and competitive environment that promotes both athletic and personal growth.This position requires a passion for track, strong leadership skills, and the ability to positively influence student-athletes both on and off the field.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and executing all aspects of the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with individual players and position groups to develop fundamental skills, techniques, and game strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with coaching staff to create practice plans, drills, and conditioning programs that enhance player performance and minimize injury risk.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend all team practices, games, meetings, and events as required by the head coach and athletic department.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in scouting opponents, analyzing game film, and preparing game plans to maximize team success.</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold and enforce all district and team policies, rules, and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster positive relationships with players, parents, school staff, and community members to promote a supportive and inclusive team culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance evaluations, and other relevant data as requested by the head coach or athletic director</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid New Jersey certification Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher </li><li>Previous coaching experience in track and field, preferably at the high school level. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of track and field events, techniques, and training methods. </li><li>Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and guide student-athletes. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, athletes, parents, and school staff. </li><li>Positive attitude, enthusiasm for coaching, and a commitment to the personal and athletic development of student-athletes. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively. </li><li>Availability to attend practices, meets, and team events during after-school hours and weekends. </li><li>Must meet New Jersey residency requirements. </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. </li><li>Highly organized and motivated. Self-starter.
