This exciting opportunity involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of natural resources biologists, scientists, environmental planners, and engineers. Our group provides environmental and permitting services for a broad range of interesting clients and projects, working across multiple geographies.. Our work extends across a diverse range of market sectors, including coastal restoration, transportation (ports, road, rail, and transit), utilities, local development, energy, and mining.</p> <p>This position can be located in any of our California offices (Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, San Luis Obispo, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Roseville, Concord, Oakland or San Francisco)</p> <p>You will perform investigation for the purpose of identifying, abating, or eliminating sources of pollutants or hazards that affect either the environment or the health of the population. Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of air, food, soil, water, and other sources.</p> <p>Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.</p> </li><li> <p>Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.</p> </li><li> <p>Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Sampling and Testing: Collect a range of samples for laboratory testing and undertake testing in accordance with statutory frameworks and best practice to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Environmental Impact Assessment: Carry out environmental impact assessments, delivering on assigned tasks to ensure comprehensive evaluation.</p> </li><li> <p>Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.</p> </li><li> <p>Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Preparation: Gather information and resources, and draft and complete standard requests for bid solicitation requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for tender (RFT) on the requester side.</p> </li><li> <p>Community of Practice Management: Participate actively in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own expertise.</p> </li><li> <p>Environmental Risk Management: Coordinate the process of identifying, assessing, and mitigating environmental risks.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead botany-related fieldwork, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Rare plant surveys</p> </li><li> <p>Restoration and mitigation monitoring</p> </li><li> <p>Habitat characterization and mapping, including Sensitive Natural Communities</p> </li><li> <p>Lead wetland delineations following state and federal guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct botanical database searches and prepare botanical reports, wetland delineation reports, and other biological resource sections for CEQA and NEPA documents.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Botany, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 6 years of experience in botanical and/or wetland-related work as outlined in the responsibilities above. </li><li>Minimum of two years of progressive responsibility and experience leading the completion of wetland and stream delineations in a consulting or similar professional setting, with demonstrated expertise in mapping waters of the U.S., waters of the State, and CDFW jurisdictional features. </li><li>Knowledge of CEQA and NEPA compliance document preparation. </li><li>Knowledge of CDFW CNDDB and CNPS database tools. </li><li>Familiarity with federal and state regulations such as CEQA, CWA, ESA, and CESA. </li></ul> <p>Take on some of the world's toughest challenges - with everyone at GHD backing you every step of the way.</p> <p>We'll give you control over your career, empower you to find innovative solutions and help you create a lasting impact.</p> <p>See where your commitment could take you with GHD.</p> <p>Salary Range: $94,760- $142,140 based on experience.</p> <p>As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
