<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Therapist Supervisor for the assigned Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK) care building, this position participates and assists in the development and implementation of an activity therapy program for an identified case load. The Therapy Assistant assists in the planning and implementation of the activity program, maintains daily attendance records, and documents information pertinent to the member and his/her activity involvement into the care plan. This position may direct the efforts of volunteers assisting with activities and provides safe transportation for members to and from Activities programs conducted on-and off-campus. Therapy Assistants adhere to all Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs' (WDVA) policies, procedures and regulations related to member care.</p> <p>Clink the link to view a copy of the full job description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting wage is $18.98 per hour with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. (pay structure, differential, any additional applicable pay provisions).</p> <p>This job does not offer employee benefits.</p> <p>Therapy Assistant Entry is in pay schedule-pay range 06-10.</p> <p>This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>LTE jobs have no guaranteed hours or shifts.</p> <p>LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period, are based on operational need, and can end at any time.</p> <p>LTE's will be filling in for vacations and covering vacancies in a 24/7 facility including weekends and holidays. This position will primarily be responsible providing and performing structured activities with our members. As well as maintaining daily care plans for members.</p> <p>Physical and environmental conditions and requirements include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to assist patients weighing up to 350 pounds with mobility needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Pushing carts weighing up to 75 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds from carts to tables.</p> </li></ul> <p>These requirements cover the major and essential functions of the position but are not necessarily representative of all duties which this position may be assigned to perform.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
