<p>Department Overview</p> <p>Casey Eye Institute (CEI). The OHSU Clinical RN provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RNs care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [O'Rourke Model of the Professional Role]. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RNs engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork. The Clinical Nurse exemplifies the principles of a Culture of Safety by committing to a Just Culture, a Reporting Culture, Learning Culture, and an Engaged Informed Culture.</p> <p>This is a part-time, .50 FTE position for the CEI OR.</p> <p>Function/Duties of Position</p> <p>Casey Eye Operating Room is a 1:1 nursing unit that provides care to ophthalmic patients in the operating room (both peds and adults). Ambulatory setting, Monday-Friday with some call.</p> <ul> <li>Small team in a fast-paced environment. Circulator for eye surgery in all subspecialties: Oculoplastic, Retina, Glaucoma, Cornea, Strabismus, Oncology. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Associate Degree of Nursing awarded from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Comission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Nursing for external hires required within 5 years of hire (candidate must be admitted to BSN program within 3 years of hire).</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Greater than or equal to six months experience as an RN </li><li>Successful completion of the TTP program necessitates attendance during all learning activities. </li></ul> <p>Department-Specific Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>OR experience preferred </li><li>1-2 years of nursing experience required </li><li>BLS required </li><li>Oregon RN license required </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to maintain safety, efficiency and standards of care especially with frequent and fast turnover of cases. </li><li>Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers, including making correct judgments regarding ensuring safe conditions for patients, families, and other personnel. </li><li>Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills </li><li>Team building and conflict resolution skills </li><li>Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask and manage workflows with frequent interruptions and changes. </li><li>Ability to work independently and to serve as a positive and professional role model. </li><li>Must have demonstrated record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance in past and present. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BSN preferred to internal candidates. </li><li>At least 2 years of experience in surgical setting which includes the specialty of Ophthalmology </li><li>CNOR </li></ul> <p>Why apply to OHSU?</p> <p>We are Oregon's only public academic health center.
