<ul> <li>Title: Program Director, Medical Imaging/Radiologic Technology Program (non-tenure </li></ul> <p>track, full-time faculty member)</p> <ul> <li>Department: Diagnostic Health Professions, School of Health Professions </li><li>Campuses: Brookville, New York </li><li>Salary: $100,000-$110,000 plus stipend </li><li>FLSA: Exempt </li><li>Starting Date: As soon as possible </li><li>Contact: Please submit an online application </li></ul> <p>Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:</p> <p>The director of the program is responsible for the organization, administration, periodic</p> <p>review, continued development and overall effectiveness of this accredited program. The</p> <p>program director manages all of the educational and clinical placement services provided by</p> <p>the program. The program director also coordinates and administers financial, physical and</p> <p>human resources to provide excellent instruction in medical imaging to students of the</p> <p>program. The director works closely and effectively with their chair and dean to ensure all of</p> <p>the above functions are completed in a manner that simultaneously adheres to the</p> <p>standards and timelines of the accreditor, university and school.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under the direction of the Chair, Department of Diagnostic Health Professions:</p> <ol> <li>Organization of the educational program to promote achievement of all learning </li></ol> <p>objectives</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Leadership and management of all faculty, including full-time and adjunct instructors, </li></ol> <p>and staff as per University guidelines</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Active involvement in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, appointment and </li></ol> <p>reappointment of all faculty, as per University guidelines</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Creation of a positive environment for learning and isntruction</p> </li><li> <p>Development of the program's master plan of education, with designation of short</p> </li></ol> <p>and long term goals and objectives</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Administration of program goals through general management operations and </li></ol> <p>prudent delegation of duties and responsibilities</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Development of program evaluation methods to ensure ongoing effectiveness </li></ol> <p>through outcomes assessment and corresponding revisions</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Development and revision of course descriptions and outlines</p> </li><li> <p>Review of all lesson plans for didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences to facilitate</p> </li></ol> <p>the achievement of program goals</p> <ol start="10"> <li>Demonstration of a positive and accountable toward students, faculty, staff, and </li></ol> <p>institutional administration, to enhance cooperation and outcomes</p> <ol start="11"> <li>Periodic assessment of program effectiveness through student evaluation, review of </li></ol> <p>faculty, exit interviews and graduate surveys</p> <ol start="12"> <li> <p>Completion of all procedures required through any accreditation processes</p> </li><li> <p>Establishment and coordination of an Advisory Board for the program, consisting of</p> </li></ol> <p>significant representatives of the program and the medical imaging community</p> <ol start="14"> <li>Scheduled visits to the clinical education centers to evaluate the effectiveness of the </li></ol> <p>clinical component of the curriculum</p> <ol start="15"> <li>Consistent meetings with the clinical coordinator and clinical instructors to promote </li></ol> <p>effective clinical instruction and supervision, and appropriate management of all</p> <p>clinical records.</p> <ol start="16"> <li>Continued education in medical imaging and educational methodologies with the </li></ol> <p>purpose of remaining current within the field of medical imaging education.</p> <ol start="17"> <li> <p>Coordination of all student selection processes for program admission.</p> </li><li> <p>Participation in meetings and service on committees to promote the goals of the</p> </li></ol> <p>program.</p> <ol start="19"> <li> <p>Didactic instruction within the Medical Imaging Program</p> </li><li> <p>Coordination of a continuing education program in medical imaging that meets the</p> </li></ol> <p>standards set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ol> <li>Proficiency in the areas of curriculum design, program administration and </li></ol> <p>leadership, program evaluation, and instruction in medical imaging/radiologic</p> <p>technology</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Credentials in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic </li></ol> <p>Technologists and New York State Department of Health</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>A minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in medical imaging.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of a Master's degree</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two (2) years full-time experience as a medical imaging educator in</p> </li></ol> <p>an accredited radiography program.</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Excellent skills in leadership, operations, accountability, supervision, and written </li></ol> <p>and oral communication</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Life Sciences Building, LIU Post Campus, Brookville, NY</p> <p>Materials & Equipment:</p> <p>Operate a computer, copy and fax machine, scanner & any other office equipment</p> <p>LIU is an equal opportunity employer.
