<p>Job Title: Logistics Procurement Specialist</p> <p>Location: De Pere, WI</p> <p>Department: Logistics Operations</p> <p>Reports To: Senior Operations Manager - Logistics</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Logistics Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and executing carrier procurement strategies across the logistics network. This role focuses on sourcing, negotiating, and managing carrier relationships to drive cost efficiency, service reliability, and long-term network optimization.</p> <p>The position plays a critical role in balancing cost, capacity, and compliance-ensuring all carrier partners meet operational, financial, and regulatory standards. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to proactively manage carrier performance and risk while supporting operational execution.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead carrier procurement efforts across the Intermodal department and assist with the Logistics procurment, with focus on building a reliable, cost-effective carrier network </li><li>Negotiate carrier rates, contracts, and service agreements </li><li>Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships </li><li>Manage carrier onboarding including risk and compliance verification </li><li>Execute carrier RFP processes, including bid strategy, evaluation, and implementation </li><li>Monitor and manage all carrier-related costs including accessorials </li><li>Establish and maintain accessorial policies and cost controls </li><li>Analyze market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly </li><li>Partner with operations, sales, and customer service teams </li><li>Track carrier performance metrics and enforce accountability </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies for Success</p> <ul> <li>Negotiation and influencing skills </li><li>Strategic and analytical thinking </li><li>Strong communication </li><li>Accountability and ownership </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities </li><li>Risk management and problem-solving </li><li>Attention to detail and process discipline </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred </li><li>Experience in logistics or carrier procurement required </li><li>Understanding of rate structures and accessorials </li><li>RFP management experience preferred </li><li>MS experience preferred </li><li>Financial analysis experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit, stand, talk, and hear regularly </li><li>Frequent use of hands and arms </li><li>Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds </li><li>Vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision </li></ul> <p>A Dedicated Transportation Partner of the Green Bay Packers</p> <p>At Paper Transport,?we're?not just building careers,?we're?building community.
