<p>Our Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA is seeking Water Group Exercise Instructors to join our Aquatics Team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, friendly, and helpful atmosphere for members participating in water group exercise classes.</p> <p>The South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called "The Hill." Hand in hand with our partners-St. Luke's Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian-the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US.</p> <p>Schedule: this is a part-time position averaging 4-12 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are flexible based on YOUR availability. Pay is $18.30-$22.88 per class.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop intentional relationships and create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. </li><li>Use the class platform to educate and inform participants about other Y program offerings. </li><li>Conduct class in a quality, fun, and safe manner that results in increased attendance. Follow fitness trends and utilize prescribed formats when applicable. </li><li>Actively identify participants who need additional support, such as new members, health seekers, and participants with diverse abilities. </li><li>Monitor and ensure the safety of all participants. </li><li>Provide excellent delivery of water group exercise instruction to all members. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome. </li><li>Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations. </li><li>Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others. </li></ul> <p>Required Certifications:</p> <p>We will support you in this journey if you don't have these currently!</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>Emergency Oxygen - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period. </li><li>Y Aquatic Safety Assistant (YASA)- Prerequisite upon hire - 90-day compliance period. </li><li>Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) - Prerequisite upon hire - 90-day compliance period. </li></ul> <p>Welcoming and Inclusion:</p> <p>At the Y, we welcome everyone whose behavior adheres to our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
