<p>Description</p> <ul> <li>Develop next generation power electronics for solar, energy storage, EV charging and Test applications using SiC and GaN mosfets. </li><li>Opportunities to develop high-frequency bidirectional DC-DC converters, AC-DC grid-tie inverter and resonant converters. </li><li>Lead development from concept to productization. </li><li>Develop innovative digital control algorithms. </li><li>Develop innovative magnetics. </li><li>Work closely with PCB layout designers to implement high density power designs. </li><li>Work closely with mechanical designers to develop the product design (sheet metal, heatsinks, bus bars, etc.). </li><li>Achieve UL & CE compliance for the various products. </li><li>Lead EMC compliance activities. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. </li><li>Strong experience in power electronics design. </li><li>Solid understanding of basic physics and electronics. </li><li>Strong understanding of high frequency power stages, filtering, circuit protection, thermal and EMI/EMC considerations. </li><li>Strong Matlab / Simulink / Sim-power Systems skills </li><li>Product development process experience a must. </li><li>Minimum 2 years of related experience with power electronics and control systems design. </li><li>Strong process orientation/discipline and demonstrated application of problem-solving tools (e.g. Paretto, 5-Why Analysis, 8-D's, six-sigma, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Desired Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in power electronics with more than 5 years of industry experience with power converter development as either NPD or R&D engineer </li><li>5 years of experience in design, testing, and debugging of DC-DC or 3phase AC-DC converters with voltage range 400-900V and power levels > 2kW. </li><li>Experience in design and selection of power semiconductor parts, cooling mechanism, passive components, protection circuits, and sensing circuits. </li><li>Understanding of PCB layout design for high voltages. </li><li>Familiarity with UL1741 standards. </li><li>Familiarity with typical Safety/EMI standards for power converter systems. </li><li>Familiarity with EMC requirements and filter design. </li><li>Understanding of hardware-mechanical interface as well as hardware-software interface. </li><li>Understanding of fundamental analytical equations of high-frequency inductor and transformer design. </li><li>Communication and coordination with multiple vendors and teams. </li><li>Experience operating in a power-electronics and industrial packaging manufacturing environment. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00/yr.</p> <p>Full benefits- health, dental, vision, 401K</p> <p>Workplace Type</p> <p>This is a fully onsite position in Milwaukee,WI.</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>This position is anticipated to close on May 19, 2026.</p> <p>Diversity, Equity & Inclusion</p> <p>At Actalent, diversity and inclusion are a bridge towards the equity and success of our people.
