<p>Patrols designated areas of the city to enforce parking laws and ordinances.</p> <ul> <li>        Issues tickets for parking violations </li><li>        Dispenses information to the general public regarding street directions, private and public facilities, etc. </li><li>        Explains parking regulations to citizens as needed </li><li>        Performs task of school crossing guard on a relief basis </li><li>        Performs various clerical and matron duties as required </li><li>        Performs other duties as assigned by competent authority </li><li>        Appointment to the position by the Traffic Investigations Commander </li><li>        Must have working knowledge of the geography of the city and locations of various private and public facilities and the location of streets </li><li>        Must have knowledge of traffic and parking ordinances and laws </li><li>        Must have elementary knowledge of simple mathematics </li><li>        Must be able to deal tactfully and courteously with the public </li><li>        Must be in physical condition to be able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions </li><li>        Must be able to prepare and maintain simple records </li><li>        Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>        Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with staff, fellow workers, and the general public </li></ul>
