<p>The purpose of this role is to assist in God's work of salvation and exaltation by providing senior level administrative support to the managing director and director of budgets and administration in the CES Commissioner's Office. The employee in this role must be able to provide excellent support, great customer service, and carefully manage confidential information. Employees at this level work under minimal supervision and handle complex issues and problems that require comprehensive working knowledge and independent non-routine decision-making using initiative, originality, ingenuity, and sound judgment.</p> <p>The CES mission is to "develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church, and their communities." CES employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work. CES employees strive to align with the direction of the Board and seek inspired and often innovative ways to support its students, staff, faculty, administrators, alumni, and other stakeholders across the world.</p> <p>Those who qualify for CES employment must be Church members who hold and are worthy to hold a current temple recommend. Through ecclesiastical leaders, CES verifies that candidates meet the ecclesiastical employment requirements and confirms the historical and current religious behavior and activity in the Church. The Church is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in its employment decisions on any basis that would violate U.S. or local law.</p> <p>Regular attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location is required to accomplish the work of furthering the mission of the Church. The standard workday occurs in the Church Office Building with occasional remote work with approval.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain strict confidentiality while preparing all documents for the Church Board of Education and Boards of Trustees (Board), who provide governance and direction for CES.</p> </li><li> <p>Compile, review, proofread, edit, and print all submissions, personnel data, and institutional requests</p> </li><li> <p>Draft submissions for proposals at the CES level</p> </li><li> <p>Creates rough draft minutes of Board and Executive Committee meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain physical and digital files of Board books and minutes</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate between 450-550 General Authority CES faculty interviews annually, acting as liaison between General Authorities' secretaries and CES institutions</p> </li><li> <p>Compile biographical and confidential information on candidates, including professional, educational, and ecclesiastical information</p> </li><li> <p>Gather General Authority comments and recommendations from the interviews</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in councils with the CES managing director's senior staff, offering suggestions, guidance, and insight while taking minutes and notes of decisions made</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the managing director by scheduling, organizing, attending, and taking minutes of various CES committees</p> </li><li> <p>Read and analyze complex and/or large documents (legal opinions, books/book chapters, articles) and prepare succinct, accurate, easy-to-understand summaries</p> </li><li> <p>Perform research, analyze information, and make recommendations based on findings</p> </li><li> <p>Compile data/information from many sources to compose, edit, and prepare memos, correspondence, documents, reports, agendas, and presentations using a wide range of software and platforms</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain calendars, make appointments, manage travel, and set up video conference calls for managing director and director of budgets and administration,</p> </li><li> <p>Screen phone calls, correspondence, and visitors. Assist the managing director by drafting responses to the correspondence received.</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with Church and CES leaders, their assistants, visitors, and Commissioner's Office staff in a way that professionally and personally represents CES in a way that creates confidence, understanding, and unity.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, organize, and execute occasional meetings and events</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree and 3+ years related experience, or any combination of equivalent education and related experience totaling at least 7 years</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive administrative support working knowledge</p> </li><li> <p>Broad knowledge of the organization's structure, functions, and key personnel</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of Church doctrine, policies, and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Key skills to include:</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate professionally at an advanced level in writing and verbal communication</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize Microsoft Office and other software at an advanced level to schedule appointments, prepare presentations, take notes and minutes, and create/update documents</p> </li><li> <p>Provide advanced research, analytical, and data summation support</p> </li><li> <p>Take standard processes and procedures and adapt to address complex problems and find less obvious solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Interact and work with others at an advanced level and in a productive and professional way</p> </li><li> <p>Work with sensitive and highly confidential information, using discretion and integrity</p> </li><li> <p>Operate and maintain standard office equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to be flexible and productive while working with multiple leaders and organize, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams in timely ways</p> </li><li> <p>Proactively anticipate needs and think strategically.</p> </li></ul> <p>To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time, moving about the office to deliver mail and other items, and using computer monitors/equipment.</p>
