We are dedicated to protecting the state of South Carolina and we would love to have you as a member of our team!</p> <p>Science | Service | Sustainability</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as a Program Coordinator I in the SC Department of Environmental Services, Bureau of Regional and Laboratory Services (BRLS) Environmental lab.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for laboratory financial and procurement transactions for the laboratory using the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) buyer role, including, but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Receiving, matching, and paying invoices</p> </li><li> <p>Updating funding on purchase orders</p> </li><li> <p>Transferring funds across cost centers to pay invoices</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring funds are available in the appropriate cost centers for lab purchases</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for all requisitions, contracts, and funding assignments in the procurement of supplies, equipment, utilities, contracts, services, and building repairs</p> </li><li> <p>Obtaining and assisting with quotes from vendors</p> </li><li> <p>Creating shopping carts in SCEIS</p> </li><li> <p>Work with laboratory staff to resolve payment issues with vendors. Contact vendors as needed to reconcile invoices and payment information to ensure timely payment of invoices</p> </li><li> <p>Work with staff in the procurement of laboratory needs</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the bureau's personnel records and vacancy tracking</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the training coordinator for SC DES Laboratories</p> </li><li> <p>Work directly with the division director and assistant chief to manage laboratory operations and personnel needs</p> </li><li> <p>Make PCard purchases as needed and where applicable and serve as PCARD Liaison for SC DES Laboratories</p> </li><li> <p>Track instrument service contracts and lab expenditures for accurate documentation of all laboratory related financial transactions</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as Property Custodian maintaining the inventory of supplies, furniture, and equipment, including vehicles. Maintain records related to transfer, disposal, or sale of any equipment, furniture, or supplies in accordance with agency policies</p> </li><li> <p>Perform general administrative duties for the laboratory to include but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>filing</p> </li><li> <p>stocking of general supplies</p> </li><li> <p>maintain regional and central office logbooks</p> </li><li> <p>other special projects as required and assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other related duties as required, which includes periodic staff meetings and training</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>A high school diploma and relevant program experience;</p> </li><li> <p>OR a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience</p> </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Duties are performed in a fast-paced working laboratory environment with separate workspace for the administrative duties of this position. Candidates must be comfortable in this environment and working directly with laboratory staff. The workplace exposure to chemicals of record will be kept below the published OSHA thresholds through use of administrative and engineering controls.</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to adhere to all safety requirements relevant to working in a laboratory building. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships </li><li>Ability to plan and meet strict deadlines </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively </li><li>High level of organizational skills </li><li>Ability to manage time and multiple projects at once </li><li>Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and program services. Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations related to the specific administrative/management functions </li><li>Knowledge of governmental fiscal and personnel procedures, practices and policies. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. </li><li>Ability to coordinate diverse administrative/management functions </li><li>Must have a strong demonstrated customer service background that lends itself to working with a diverse staff </li><li>Employee must have and maintain a valid driver's license </li><li>Must be able to bend, climb, and stoop. Some standing for periods of time and lift-up to 50 lbs. to countertop level </li><li>Must maintain a professional appearance.
