<p>Duties</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instruction & Curriculum</p> <ul> <li>Teach Medical Terminology curriculum during the first semester. </li><li>Teach Phlebotomy curriculum during the second semester, including laboratory and clinical skill development. </li><li>Provide CNA clinical instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays at assigned clinical locations. </li><li>Develop and maintain lesson plans aligned to Illinois Learning Standards, CTE standards, and industry expectations. </li><li>Provide hands-on instruction using industry-standard equipment and procedures. </li><li>Prepare students for applicable industry certifications and credential opportunities. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet varying student learning needs and abilities. </li><li>Maintain accurate student grades, attendance, competency records, and student progress documentation. </li></ul> <p>Clinical & Internship Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with and supervise CNA clinical experiences in partnership with healthcare facilities. (Managed by CNA Program Coordinator) </li><li>Schedule, assign, and monitor Allied Health student internships and clinical placements. </li><li>Develop internship schedules and ensure students are appropriately assigned during days the instructor is conducting CNA clinical instruction. </li><li>Communicate regularly with healthcare partners regarding student expectations, attendance, performance, and placement logistics. </li><li>Monitor student professionalism, workplace readiness, and compliance within clinical and internship environments. </li><li>Ensure all required student documentation, certifications, immunizations, and compliance requirements are completed prior to clinical placement. </li></ul> <p>Classroom & Laboratory Management</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a safe and organized classroom and laboratory environment. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, HIPAA, and bloodborne pathogen protocols. </li><li>Monitor and maintain inventory of instructional supplies and equipment. </li><li>Reinforce professional behavior, communication, confidentiality, and ethical standards expected in healthcare professions. </li></ul> <p>Student Support & Career Readiness</p> <ul> <li>Promote employability skills including teamwork, communication, professionalism, and time management. </li><li>Assist students in exploring healthcare career pathways and post-secondary opportunities. </li><li>Support work-based learning opportunities and maintain strong partnerships with regional healthcare providers. </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, sending districts, and administration regarding student progress and program expectations. </li></ul> <p>Program Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Participate in program advisory committee meetings and collaborate with local healthcare professionals and partners. </li><li>Assist with student recruitment activities. </li><li>Maintain compliance with all IDPH, and WACC program requirements. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities to remain current with healthcare industry standards and instructional practices. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications: (RN required)</p> <ul> <li>Valid Illinois ISBE Career and Technical Education endorsement/licensure OR ability to obtain appropriate licensure. </li><li>Current CNA Instructor qualification and/or ability to meet Illinois CNA clinical instruction requirements preferred. </li><li>Background required. </li><li>Phlebotomy experience and/or certification preferred. </li><li>Teaching experience preferred but not required. </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration, healthcare partners, and students. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications: (Not Required)</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in clinical, long-term care, or hospital settings. </li><li>Experience coordinating internships, clinicals, or work-based learning placements. </li><li>Experience teaching high school or adult learners. </li><li>Current healthcare-related certifications. </li><li>Familiarity with dual credit, certification programs, or Career and Technical Education programming. </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Contract Terms:</p> <ul> <li>Salary and benefits based on education, experience, and board-approved contract. </li><li>School-year calendar and work schedule as established by WACC. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit:</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest </li><li>Resume </li><li>Credentials/licensure information </li><li>References </li></ul> <p>Applications should be submitted to:</p> <p>Whiteside Area Career Center</p> <p>Josh Johnson: jjohnson@wacc.cc</p> <p>Attention: Executive Director</p> <p>1608 1st Avenue</p> <p>Sterling, IL 61081</p> <p>Email Address</p> <p>jjohnson@wacc.cc</p> <p>School District</p> <p>www.wacc.cc</p> <p>City Website</p> <p>Sterling</p> <p>ILearn Link</p> <p>ILearn</p> <p>Report Card Link</p> <p>District Report Card</p> <p>Job Posting Date</p> <p>5/14/2026</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>6/12/2026</p> <p>Start Date</p> <p>8/10/2026</p> <p>Email for More Information</p> <p>jjohnson@wacc.cc</p>
