Cedar Rapids - Why you should live here!   </p> <p>About this Opportunity    </p> <ul> <li>Site Supervisor: Responsible for providing supervision to the sports leagues day-to-day by maintaining order in the area or conducting/overseeing the staff.   </li><li>Recreation Program Leader: Interacts with children and parents during youth sports activities. Displays enthusiasm and provides good leadership for assigned activities. </li></ul> <p>The City of Cedar Rapids does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization.</p> <p>Site Supervisor:</p> <ul> <li>Resolves conflicts during league operations </li><li>Checks on facilities for safety and maintenance needs </li><li>Officiates games when needed </li><li>Makes decisions on playability of facilities when in question </li><li>Keeps league standings </li><li>Assigns officials to games </li><li>Turns in payroll </li><li>Inspects sports equipment for quality and safety and reports to supervisor any deficiencies </li><li>Turns on lights if and when needed </li><li>Maintains discipline and oversees events at a recreation facility </li><li>Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices </li><li>Attends work regularly at the designated place and time </li><li>Supports "Quality at Work" initiatives </li><li>Performs related work as required </li></ul> <p>Recreation Program Leader:</p> <ul> <li>Makes independent judgements and enforces the rules according to the sport </li><li>Communicates with adults and groups of youth in various sports settings; </li><li>Adheres to established instructional teaching and lesson plans; </li><li>Maintains equipment and insures equipment is properly stored at completion of practice or games; </li><li>Distributes forms and schedules to parents as assigned; </li><li>Attends training as scheduled; </li><li>Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices; </li><li>Attends work regularly at the designated place and time; </li><li>Supports continuous process improvement initiatives; </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>Site Supervisor:</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Working and supervisory experience with various sports; or  </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. </li></ul> <p> Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid Iowa Driver's License preferred. </li></ul> <p>Recreation Program Leader:</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires excellent work ethic and experience working with elementary age children through child care or similar group activities; or </li><li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid U.S. Driver's License preferred. </li></ul> <p>Position Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Recreation Program Leader- Average of 8-15 hours/week depending on program needs and availability; weeknight evenings and weekend mornings required </li><li>Site Supervisor- Average of 15-19 hours/week depending on program needs and availability; weeknight evenings and weekend mornings required </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <ul> <li>Recreation Program Leader $11.50/hour </li><li>Site Supervisor $12.00/hour </li></ul>
