<p>Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of HVAC Specialist III on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.</p> <p>Salary & Benefit</p> <p>The annual salary is $43,000. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.</p> <p>Position Concept</p> <p>Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, ventilation systems and associated systems and equipment throughout all college campuses. The Specialist III is expected to exercise a considerable amount of independent judgment and acts as a technical leader for other HVAC personnel. Required to assume weekend and after hours' standby for emergencies. May be responsible for assigning work to other HVAC personnel.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or GED. </li><li>A minimum of five years' experience operating, maintaining, and repairing boiler, ventilation, air conditioning and heating equipment. </li><li>A HVAC EPA Certification required. </li><li>Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's license required. </li><li>This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00). This fingerprinting fee ($36.00) is non-refundable. </li><li>Understanding of and commitment to Equal Access/Equal Opportunity. </li><li>Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase. * </li><li>High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. </li></ul> <p>Minimum physical qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move 40 + pounds. </li><li>Must have good hand eye coordination. </li><li>Must be able to stand, stoop and bend for long periods of time. </li><li>Must have knowledge and experience of the use of HVAC hand tools and equipment. </li><li>Works within confined spaces. </li><li>Works outside in various weather conditions. </li><li>Works in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment. </li><li>Works in noisy conditions. </li><li>Works with hazardous chemicals. </li></ul> <p>Notes</p> <p>Applications will be accepted from April 24, 2025, through July 31, 2025; however, the College reserves the right to extend or conclude searches without notice.
