<p>The DECODE LAB at Nemours seeks a motivated Post Doctoral Fellow to conduct research for both internally and externally funded projects of interest in a multi-PI laboratory setting in Wilmington, DE. This position will be under the Department of Neurology. The position will have primary reporting to Dr Hernan. A PhD in Neuroscience or Cognitive Science is preferred with experience working with small animals.</p> <p>Primary functions include:</p> <ul> <li>Performs a range of experiments under the direction of multiple PI. </li><li>Signal acquisition and processing from cells. </li><li>Microscopy skills (Calcium imaging data a plus) </li><li>Programming knowledge and ability to perform machine learning and graph neural networks analysis on different disease models through Python and MATLAB </li><li>Clinical and non-clinical research data analyses. </li><li>Statistical analysis including Generalized Estimating Equations, multiple linear regression and time-series analysis. </li><li>Animal handling (surgical skills preferred) </li><li>In vivo electrophysiology (preferred) </li><li>Maintains organized and detailed handwritten and computerized records of work performed. </li><li>Must have excellent interpersonal skills conducive to working in a team. </li><li>May be required to perform experiments during certain weekends or after hours (depending on the need of experiment). </li><li></li></ul> <p>Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>A team player </li><li>Laboratory etiquette </li><li>Ability to present data during lab meetings and conferences. </li><li>Collaborate with data scientists and informaticians within the Nemours Biomedical Research Informatics Center (BRIC) including regular participation in BRIC team meetings. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Post Graduate Degree in the field of Neuroscience or Cognitive Science with machine learning experience. </li><li>At least one year of relevant experience (graduate level experience acceptable). </li></ul> <p>The applicant should include a CV, a brief 1-page statement summarizing current interests and experience, and three professional references.</p> <p>This position is contingent upon funding.</p>
