Their main duties include following the production schedule and ensuring all materials needed per the factory work order are staged at the press. Also supports pressroom production with mixing ink to match color targets, delivering ink to press, and assisting press operators with color matching for the production of high-quality printed materials.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains clean work area.</p> </li><li> <p>Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows the department's safety rules, GMP's and SOP's.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews production schedule and prioritizes jobs as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and locates the correct products for each job during the staging process (books, raw materials, inks, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Delivers appropriate products to the correct press location.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists as needed in the ink lab by:</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing inks, coatings, adhesives, primers, and additives for each stage of press production.</p> </li><li> <p>Maximizes press production through consistent target color matching.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in Anilox selection and color adjustments during approval process and as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures proper ink viscosities and pH levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages inventory of new and "work-off" inks.</p> </li><li> <p>Properly disposes of used inks, adhesives, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages movement of inks and other materials to/from storage, staging, and press.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains records of ink and other material formulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains organization of Ink Department while keeping work areas neat and clean.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates with department leads and other departments as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. </li><li>Ability to read and write comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. </li><li>Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed. </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. </li><li>Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.</p> <p>Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.</p> <p>Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.</p> <p>Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds overhead.</p> <p>Requires constant movement and bending.</p> <p>Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.</p> <p>The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.</p>
