Whether a planned project or an emergency response, Mersino meets challenges with expertise, equipment, and service.</p> <p>We move water.</p> <p>Location: Auburn Hills, MI</p> <p>Travel: 50%</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The primary responsibility of the Director of Risk & Safety (DRS) is to drive safety as a top priority throughout the organization by consistently developing, communicating, and enforcing safety programs; all while ensuring to support the ability of the company to drive revenue. In this respect, the DSR shall serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the team's overall success.</p> <p>Typical Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and manage company safety initiatives and programs </li><li>Implement and maintain the branch safety audit program </li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive branch safety scorecard audit program </li><li>Complete branch safety audits at regular intervals </li><li>Implement monthly branch safety audits and enforce compliance </li><li>Implement and maintain a comprehensive job safety audit program </li><li>Travel to conduct branch and job-site safety inspections and implement solutions to correct deficiencies </li><li>Coordinate with branch managers and company leaders to ensure safety training is administered and maintained </li><li>Conduct training on the Fleet Safety Program and all related DOT requirements </li><li>Audit fleet safety and DOT compliance company-wide </li><li>Act as the first point of contact for the branch-level teams seeking support or information related to safety or company safety initiatives </li><li>Act as the Branch Safety Chairman to drive company safety initiatives </li><li>Report all accidents and incidents with the appropriate entities in a timely fashion </li><li>Complete investigations for all workplace accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions </li><li>Attend Safety Risk Committee conference bi-annually </li><li>Review and update all safety policies and procedures annually </li><li>Ensure that the Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in construction safety or in a related field preferred, or an equivalent amount of Construction Safety experience </li><li>Experience in construction safety preferred </li><li>OSHA 30 certified and knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to construction </li><li>FMCSA and DOT knowledge </li><li>Ability to present safety messaging and training to groups of people </li><li>Planning and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects </li><li>Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications </li></ul> <p>Specific Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel up to 50% </li><li>Excellent internal and external customer service </li><li>Ability to work well with other </li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast past environment </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Self-motivated, with the ability to perform tasks with little or no direction </li><li>Strong time management and organizational skills </li><li>Job requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
