<p>Quality Assurance Specialist</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Quality Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Quality Assurance and the on-site testing laboratory. This role serves as a subject matter expert in quality systems and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting customer expectations. Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are critical in this position.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain and continuously improve the quality program to ensure systems meet customer specifications and company requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and manage laboratory functions, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Calibration of lab equipment (acting as SME or vendor point-of-contact).</p> </li><li> <p>Oversight of the proficiency testing program.</p> </li><li> <p>Managing Certificates of Conformance/Analysis (COC/COA) processes for incoming materials and finished goods.</p> </li><li> <p>Serving as ERP system subject matter expert within the Quality department.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to evaluate standards, quality, and reliability.</p> </li><li> <p>Execute validation and verification requirements for the Milwaukee site per SQF Code.</p> </li><li> <p>Train, coach, and guide employees on testing and inspection activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide quality training and onboarding for new hires.</p> </li><li> <p>Expedite disposition of non-conforming materials (raw, in-process, customer returns) on quality hold.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigate and resolve customer complaints, including managing return material authorization processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as designated backup for the Quality Manager, including serving as backup SQF Practitioner.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure product safety and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with plant operations, sales, and customer service teams on quality-related issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Background / Experience</p> <ul> <li>1-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance, preferably in packaging. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. </li><li>Certified SQF Practitioner. </li><li>Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Ability to thrive in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Strong typing and documentation skills. </li></ul> <p>"ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
