<p>SPEECH, LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provides speech, language and hearing services to pupils with communication handicaps in accordance with Indiana Rule S-1 and P.L. 94-142.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves with system-wide assignment as a member of special services evaluative team..</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies pupils with communication handicaps by conducting bi-annual speech, language and hearing screenings or through special services procedures of individual referral.</p> </li><li> <p>Assesses and diagnoses pupils detected in the identification process.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills requests for evaluative services for individual students as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Involves parents, teachers, and other necessary specialists in the rehabilitative process by preparing Individualized Educational Programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Selects and schedules therapy cases.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates cases through clinical management and educational processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates the rehabilitative process.</p> </li><li> <p>Terminates direct rehabilitative services and institutes follow-up procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes written reports with appropriate comments and recommendations to principals on all students seen during bi-annual screening projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Furnishes lists of students in therapy to principals.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares progress reports for parents, teachers and other involved personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes and files through Director of Exceptional Learners necessary state and federal reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Presents quarterly status report to Director of Exceptional Learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains pupil and program records.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides information and assistance to parents and staff concerning necessary referral to community agencies/disciplines.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigates new strategies for delivering pupil services by conducting or participating in research, pilot programs, and continuing education.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides consultative services to classroom teachers and curriculum specialists to assist in the development of adequate communication skills for all pupils.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in Pre-Kindergarten Assessment/Enrollment Program as directed by Director of Exceptional Learners.</p> </li><li> <p>Contributes to Developmental Learning Program by writing and/or revising Language Development and Conceptual Development activities for the Manual.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts staff in-service programs in the areas of Language Development.</p> </li><li> <p>Takes part in budget making process.</p> </li></ol> <p>Apply online at http://www.generalasp.com/msdpike/onlineapp/default.aspx</p> <p>Full teachers benefits (medical, dental, vision)</p> <p>Teacher's Retirement</p>
