<p>Job Details</p> <p>Advanced Practice Provider - PA - Interventional Cardiology</p> <p>About the Physician & Team</p> <p>Join a highly skilled and collaborative cardiology team led by Dr. Waqas Khan, a board-certified interventional cardiologist with advanced training from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. Dr. Khan brings extensive expertise in both cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.</p> <p>Practicing with Catholic Health in Patchogue, New York, this growing program offers APPs the opportunity to work across a dynamic mix of outpatient care and interventional cardiology. The practice manages a wide range of complex cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disease, while also supporting advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placement.</p> <p>Dr. Waqas Khan is known for fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment where APPs are valued partners in care delivery. He emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, and open communication, ensuring APPs have the autonomy and support needed to thrive professionally.</p> <p>APP Role & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments in both outpatient and procedural settings </li><li>Manage and follow patients with complex cardiac conditions, including heart failure, CAD, and arrhythmias </li><li>Perform pre- and post-procedural evaluations for cardiac catheterizations and interventions </li><li>Interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms </li><li>Collaborate closely with the physician and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans </li><li>Provide patient education on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications </li><li>Support care coordination, including referrals, follow-ups, and transitions of care </li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to optimal patient outcomes </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State </li><li>Board certification as an NP (ANCC/AANP) or PA (NCCPA) </li><li>Current DEA registration (or eligible) </li><li>BLS and ACLS certification required - AHA only </li><li>Prior cardiology experience preferred; interventional or acute care experience strongly desired </li><li>Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment </li></ul> <p>This is an excellent opportunity for an APP seeking hands-on experience in a high-acuity, specialized cardiology setting with strong clinical leadership and growth potential.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>USD $69.55 - USD $93.00 /Hr.</p>
