Prepares specimens for testing: verifies correct sample type, volume, handling and storage conditions. Properly centrifuges, aliquots and labels specimens and delivers to appropriate laboratory department in a timely manner. Professionally communicates with phlebotomists, Lab Technicians, hospital staff and patients by phone and in person as needed. Performs Automation line maintenance. The central processor is a departmental ambassador and is responsible for providing excellent customer service. This position does have access to confidential patient information and direct patient care.
