<p>Position Summary: (Describes the overall purpose of this position)</p> <p>Working closely with the Chief Medical Officer, the Associate Medical Director, Psychiatry (AMD-P) plays a crucial role in leading the psychiatric services of the organization and is responsible for overseeing the psychiatric staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health care, and integrating psychiatric services with other medical departments. Acts as a liaison between psychiatry services and other healthcare teams, ensuring collaborative and integrated patient care.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of this position):</p> <ul> <li>Leadership and Management: Direct and oversee the psychiatric staff, including the recruitment, orientation, retention, and ensuring adherence to quality and productivity standards. </li><li>Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of psychiatric policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services. </li><li>Program Development: Contribute to the creation and execution of innovative psychiatric programs and services that align with the organization's overall objectives and patient needs. </li><li>Budget and Administration: Participate in budgeting and administrative processes related to psychiatric services, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support delivery of services. </li><li>Collaboration and Liaison: Assist in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with hospitals, other medical departments, and external mental health organizations to enhance service integration and collaborative care. </li><li>Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance and utilization reviews specific to psychiatric services,. </li><li>Professional Development: Identify and address the professional development needs of the psychiatric staff, creating an environment that supports learning, growth, and development through continuous education. </li><li>Compliance and Credentialing: Assures compliance of psychiatric services with relevant regulations and standards, including internal credentialing requirements, and external agency requirements. </li><li>Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Promote the effective use of EMR within psychiatric services to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and staff satisfaction through collaboration with IT and medical informatics departments. </li><li>Community and Professional Representation: Represent the organization's psychiatric services to external stakeholders, engage in community mental health initiatives, and showcase the organization as a desirable place for psychiatric professionals to practice. </li><li>Clinical Psychiatric Practice: Maintain clinical practice, including review, screening, and diagnostic evaluation of patients at least 60% of allotted FTE time. </li><li>Other Duties as Assigned </li></ul>
