<p>The Department of Biology at Lipscomb University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in zoology or botany with a focus on environmental biology or ecology. The candidate would contribute to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. The major focus of this position is excellence in teaching. The candidate must have a strong and active commitment to the Christian mission and values of Lipscomb University. The position starts in the 2025-2026 academic year beginning August 1, 2025.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate's area of expertise, including courses in animal biology, ecology, and/or environmental biology. </li><li>Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students. </li><li>Mentor students in independent environmental biology research projects and collaborate across disciplines within the department and university for interdisciplinary initiatives </li><li>Engage in professional development and service activities, including participation in departmental, college, and university committees. </li><li>Contribute to community outreach and public engagement in environmental and biological issues. </li></ul> <p>Applications must include the following:</p> <ul> <li>A letter of interest </li><li>Curriculum Vitae </li><li>Three (3) letters of reference (2 academic references and 1 church reference) </li><li>A statement of teaching philosophy </li><li>An essay of your spiritual journey </li><li>Possible research plan </li><li>Copies of transcripts of all academic degrees </li></ul>
