At Tutor Perini Civil you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of large, high-profile, projects that impact your community.</p> <p>Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent</p> <p>DESCRIPTION:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage day-to-day Safety Operations, maintaining a SAFE jobsite, monitors safety and takes appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Purchases Safety equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for site specific safety assignments and multi-shift coverage.</p> </li><li> <p>Originates in-take of all EEO, harassment and workplace violence claims and forwards to Human Resources.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Works to ensure contract specifications are adhered to.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors activities at construction sites, conducting daily site inspections.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Project Management with monitoring of the job specific safety plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Review accident procedure with Field Management.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and reviews the minutes of safety meetings (weekly sub coordination).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain SDS and Hazardous Communication Program for subcontractors.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes incident reports and distributes and maintains files.</p> </li><li> <p>Gathers toolbox reports from foreman and subcontractors.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives and monitors subcontractor safety reports and responds when discrepancies occur in monthly man- hour report and maintains OSHA Log 300.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors all accidents and maintains appropriate paperwork and files pertaining to same. Gathers Monthly Safety Hours from subcontractors for the monthly S-7 Report and forwards to Safety Director.</p> </li><li> <p>Sets up job-specific safety orientation and drug testing appointments for new craft employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Creative and resourceful in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties or responsibilities as per your supervisor.</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field is desired. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.</p> </li><li> <p>At least 15 years of experience in the safety management and construction of complex infrastructure projects ; change to ramps/garage type structures</p> </li><li> <p>Six to ten years of experience in the field of Safety Management or in a related area</p> </li><li> <p>Have experience with, and understand, the transit safety and security certification processes;</p> </li><li> <p>Have full understanding and oversight of crane operations and requirements;</p> </li><li> <p>Be familiar with Port Authority and Airport Work Zone Safety Regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to analyze situations, identify problems and recommend solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, contracts and labor/management agreements.</p> </li><li> <p>Make, support, and explain recommendations and decisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems; particularly in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Basic knowledge of Prolog software is desired</p> </li><li> <p>Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or other safety Certification or License.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor card.</p> </li><li> <p>40-Hour NYC DOB Site Safety Manager course.</p> </li><li> <p>OSHA 30-Hour within five years</p> </li><li> <p>CSP or SHSM certification desired.
