We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate to join our Proxy Voting & Governance Research team. This role is hybrid role located in Pittsburgh, PA, or Boston, MA. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Support data gathering, benchmarking, and reporting to inform voting decisions and policy positions. Review and analyze proxy materials, including annual proxy statements, shareholder proposals, and related filings. Work with internal leaders to develop and maintain BNY's corporate governance policies. Develop expertise of the proxy voting infrastructure and be able to answer questions and address problems that may arise in the submission of proxy votes. Monitor proxy voting operations to ensure all accounts are voted as intended and are in accordance with the appropriate guidelines. Conduct and facilitate external engagement meetings to convey BNY's philosophies and strategies on priority topics. Monitor changes in SEC regulations and corporate governance standards, providing updates and guidance to senior leaders on how new rules or proposed changes may affect BNY's proxy voting policies. To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 3 years of total work experience in financial services, with experience related to corporate governance matters preferred. Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The ability to prioritize, analyze, and resolve complex issues under time pressure while maintaining consistent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and convey it in a clear and concise manner to senior-level audiences. Familiarity with emerging trends in corporate governance, shareholder activism, and their impact on proxy voting matters.
