High school graduate with business or accounting emphasis</p> <p>b. Associate degree in business or accounting preferred</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <p>a. Two (2) years healthcare patient accounting experience and one (1) year of medical billing experience preferably in a hospital setting</p> <p>b. Experience and knowledge of electronic claim submission software</p> <p>c. Experience and knowledge of Medicare DDE software preferred</p> <p>d. Knowledge of federal, state, and payer specific regulations for "clean claim" submission</p> <p>e. General knowledge of CPT and ICD9CM codes for claim submission</p> <p>f. General knowledge of managed care contracts and reimbursement methodologies</p> <p>g. General understanding of revenue cycle and accounts receivable</p> <p>h. Knowledge of Medicare OPPS and Correct Coding Initiatives preferred</p> <p>i. PC software experience and knowledge helpful (i.e.: Excel, Word, etc.).</p> <p>Required Skills and Knowledge</p> <p>a. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with those contacted in the course of work</p> <p>b. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records</p> <p>c. Analytical and problem solving skills for claim correction and account resolution</p> <p>d. Ability to make good decisions, think independently, and work as a team player</p> <p>e. Working knowledge of computers, calculators, and other equipment used in a professional setting</p> <p>f.
