<p>Position:??Carrier Relations Specialist</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Forward Air is seeking a full-time Carrier Relations Specialist at its Groveport, OH facility.?Due to continued expansion, Forward Air, Inc. is seeking self-motivated individuals to successfully oversee our cartage agent network.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities & Duties</p> <ul> <li>Applicants should be able to develop carrier relationships, multitask, successfully coordinate between multiple departments, operations, service providers, communicate in a clear and professional manner, possess mid-level computer and typing skills, high attention to detail, ability to learn complex systems quickly, and have a positive attitude </li><li>Manage the final mile pricing tables </li><li>Manage available coverages and closures </li><li>Identify, select, and secure new carrier options to enhance the existing network </li><li>Onboard carriers via the application and contract process </li><li>Negotiate pricing agreements </li><li>Train new carriers in systems and requirements </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>College coursework and/or cartage and/or transportation experience preferred but not required </li><li>If you do not have experience in these related fields, but are seriously considering a career move into the logistics industry, then you may be considered if you can show proven, successful, and consistent experience in another field </li><li>Professional, authoritative, and positive communication </li><li>Relevant experience can include cartage, transportation, logistics, line haul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, and pricing </li><li>Computer literate with at least entry level computer skills; systems used are Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Explorer, Email, and proprietary company programs </li><li>Vendor performance oversight with an approach that balances vendor accountability and partnership </li><li>Type 30+ WPM preferred </li><li>Multitasking in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Multiple line phone system, calculator, and great math skills </li><li>Ability to successfully coordinate and collaborate between multiple departments and service providers </li><li>Self- motivated with critical thinking and problem-solving skills </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>The ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic </li><li>Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus </li><li>Experience with Excel functions and macros is a plus </li><li>Experience with Access and query functions is a plus </li><li>Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus </li></ul> <p>Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.</p> <p>#IND</p>
