<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School/Mathematics Specialist</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/14/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Blanchard Memorial School - Boxborough</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/25/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>until filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>The responsibilities of the K-6 Math Specialist include working closely with school administrators to collect and analyze data using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools to support MTSS, provide targeted instruction to students, share best practices and resources with educators, engage families to promote mathematical experiences outside the school setting, and work with district jobalike colleauges to align resources and practices.</p> <p>District-based:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work closely with Building Leadership, Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. Meet with district job-alike colleagues and the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the selection and evaluation of resources and support the piloting of new materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement District-wide professional learning</p> </li></ul> <p>School-based:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist (scheduling, administration, and tracking) of universal screenings and progress monitoring assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Support educators to interpret data and use it to inform instruction, implement progress monitoring, and design interventions</p> </li><li> <p>Provide supplemental, short-term, targeted, and one-on-one instruction to improve specific students' skills</p> </li><li> <p>Collect, analyze, and communicate quantitative and qualitative data about instruction implementation.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and provide school-based professional learning via workshops, seminars, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Share instructional and professional resources</p> </li><li> <p>Provide data reports and analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Meet regularly with the Principal/Assistant Principal and STEAM Coach to review school-wide and classroom-level quantitative and qualitative data, and to monitor progress toward instructional goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the distribution of resources and materials for buildings at the beginning and end of the year.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in and support planning of school events related to curriculum and instruction (i.e. STEAM and Literacy Night, Back to School Night, principal coffees, etc)</p> </li><li> <p>Engage families to promote mathematical experiences outside the school setting.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>MA DESE Licensure in Elementary Education (1-6) required or Mathematics 1-6 (needs to include Elementary Mathematics MTEL 53)</p> </li><li> <p>Five to ten years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary level preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Coursework appropriate to understanding through Algebra 1.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstration of success in creating significant academic gains for students in the area of Mathematics at the elementary level</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstration of significant work in leading professional learning, curriculum work as a team leader, or similar math content work with elementary staff</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with staff members at various grade levels and with different levels of teaching experience</p> </li></ul> <p>You can watch our educators talk about working at Acton-Boxborough here: https://youtu.be/TenOhRXzESE</p> <p>You can learn more working at Acton-Boxborough here: https://sites.google.com/abschools.org/joinactonboxborough/home</p> <p>We believe that our students deserve to learn from educators who reflect their backgrounds and life experiences, and we want our staff to reflect the wide range of student identities we seek to serve.
