<p>Job Goal: In collaboration with the K-8 Humanities Coordinator & the Summer Elementary Director, provide leadership in curriculum development, professional learning and instructional coaching to summer program staff.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated commitment to equity in educational opportunities and conditions for learning </li><li>Ability to form positive relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders </li><li>Experience with curriculum development and educator collaboration. </li><li>5+ years teaching/ leadership experience </li><li>MA DESE Elementary License in appropriate grade level or as a reading specialist </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership and support in the development, implementation, and revisions of the SomerSession ELA curriculum. </li><li>Provide leadership with the selection of instructional materials and resources for SomerSession. </li><li>Coach and support teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing quality ELA instruction </li><li>Assist teachers to integrate formative assessment into instructional practice </li><li>Develop and conduct professional learning opportunities for teachers connected to the SomerSession ELA curriculum and instruction. </li><li>Meet regularly with the SomerSession Director regarding curriculum and instruction. </li><li>Track student progress over the SomerSession program. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Seasonal/Yearly Employment </li><li>July 1, 2025 - August 1, 2025 </li><li>Hourly Rate: $35 per hour worked </li><li>10-15 hours per week during SomerSession, specific times set in collaboration with Director. </li><li>Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: Week of June 23-27 TBD. </li><li>Will be expected to provide PD and work hours before this in preparation. </li></ul> <p>Position Reports to: K-8 Curriculum Coordinators, Director of Summer Elementary Program, & Assistant Director of Summer Elementary Program</p> <p>Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be canceled due to lack of enrollment.</p> <p>The Somerville Public School does not discriminate in its programs, facilities or employment of educational opportunities on the bases of race, color, age, religion, disability, preganancy, home status, martital/civil union status, sex/gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, citizenship status, place of birth, national origin, ancestry, cultural identity, genetics or military status, and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation, threat or harassment that demeans individuals' group or interferes with their ability to learn or work.</p>
